We at Swan’s Neck Soundworks are proud to present a musical experience unlike any other:

An Evening at Swan’s Neck Soundworks

An exclusive acoustic evening with Roy Khan, Tore Østby & Kjell Magne Robak at the former Tåkern Hostel & Café!

On August 20th, we’ll open the doors to Swan’s Neck Soundworks for the very first time, inviting you to an exclusive and intimate acoustic concert with Roy Khan and Tore Østby of the Norwegian progressive rock band Conception, together with the versatile cellist Kjell Magne Robak.

For more than three decades, Roy Khan and Tore Østby have written music together in Conception, released several critically acclaimed albums, toured the world, and performed at major rock festivals across Europe and the United States. Beyond Conception, Roy is also internationally renowned as the former vocalist of Kamelot, while Tore is one of the founding members of the Norwegian-American-Swedish rock band ARK, which has achieved cult status on the international progressive rock scene.

The evening’s repertoire will primarily feature new acoustic interpretations of songs from Conception’s catalogue, allowing the music to take on new life in an intimate and stripped-back setting. Roy Khan’s distinctive and soulful voice, Tore Østby’s expressive guitar playing and Kjell Magne Robak’s atmospheric cello combine to reveal new dimensions of the music.

Kjell Magne Robak is a creative and versatile cellist who has performed with, among others, the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra, Sissel Kyrkjebø, and Åge Aleksandersen, bringing his own unique musical voice to the concert.

With only a very limited number of seats available, An Evening at Swan’s Neck Soundworks offers a rare opportunity to experience Roy, Tore and Kjell Magne up close, just before the trio embarks on its acoustic tour of Norway.

Rather than a traditional concert venue, the audience will experience the music in the very place that is the home and creative workspace of Tore Østby and Maria Engström Østby—a place where music is written, rehearsed, recorded, mixed and produced. Swan’s Neck Soundworks will occasionally open its doors for intimate concerts, creative gatherings and other special events in the future, making this the beginning of a new chapter.
